Box is dedicated to supporting the causes its employees care about most.
As a nod to our first Junior Hackathon this year, Box Hackathon is also matching Boxer donations up to $5k during the 24 hours of Hackathon for TechBridge Girls, an org dedicated to re-engineering the way that STEM education is taught, experienced and represented for BIPOC girls who experience economic insecurity (* including cis girls, trans youth, gender non-conforming and/or non-binary youth who experience(d) girlhood as a part of their journey.
India is facing an unprecedented and overwhelming COVID-19 surge. The country's residents are scrambling to access open ICU beds for loved ones and fatalities are rising. At Box, "Being a Good Neighbor" is core to our Community Impact approach. Right now that means showing up for our neighbors--for many Boxers, our friends and family-- in India. Please join us in giving to support the crisis response in India. Through our Box.org Fund, we will match every Boxer donation dollar for dollar up to $50,000. Thanks to the Box.org leads for supporting our efforts globally and moving quickly to help us make an impact in this relief fund.
Box is committed to taking action in solidarity with the Black community against racism, hate, and injustice. We believe it is important to listen and learn from our Boxer community, so together with our Black Excellence Network (BEN) ERG, Box.org has identified and selected organizations that we believe will have the most meaningful impactful in the fight for racial justice: Equal Justice Initiative, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Black Visions Collective, and Gideon's Army. This is one small step that we can make toward advancing equality in our communities. In addition to the $200K from our Box.org Fund to support organizations that are working to dismantle systemic barriers and make progress toward racial equality, we invite Boxers to give to these organizations with us. Box.org is giving $2 for every $1 Boxers give to the Summer Fun Fund for CASA of San Mateo. May is Foster Care Awareness month and CASA aims to raise $20,000 in partnership with Box to provide a fun summer activity or item to each of the 200 children in their programs. If we reach our $7k goal, Box.org will contribute $14k to bring our grand total to $21,000. Let's do this together to bring joy to kids this summer! Summer marks a key time for children as they wrap up their school year and look towards fun activities, something they were unable to do last year. While many will participate in those dreamed-of events – from playing in sports leagues to going on family vacations to joining in summer camps – children in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems most likely will not, primarily because of lack of funds and support systems. Join us in giving May 13-May 31 to support a summer fun activity for foster youth and receive a 2x match for your donation (up to the $7k goal). $100 provides a summer fun activity for one youth, and every amount makes a difference. Join with friends to together support a child and tag other Boxers on the #boxorg Slack channel once you've donated to get your team involved!

This is one small step that we can make toward advancing equality in our communities. We invite Boxers to give to these organizations with us. Please help us support Nor Cal families recovering from the devastating Nor Cal urban wildfires.
With BoxWorks Digital happening around the time of Back-to-School and many classrooms shifting to fully virtual or hybrid environments, we've decided to focus our annual internal Back-to-School fundraising efforts on the digital divide, which has been emphasized by nonprofits and schools during COVID-19. This divide perpetuates and deepens socioeconomic disparities for underserved communities. A 2015 study found that 35% of lower-income households with children in school didn’t have access to internet at home. We're partnering with Human-I-T (https://www.human-i-t.org/) who specifically focuses on shrinking the digital divide by providing devices, internet access and digital literacy training. Internally, our goal is to kick off our fundraising strong and raise $15K which can provide more than 100 refurbished laptops or 150 hot spots for students in underserved communities.
The Box Culinary team is cooking for evacuees and first responders of the Kincade Fire! The effects of COVID-19 have been felt throughout the world - impacting our health, our economy, the work of our fellow nonprofits, and the safety of our Asian American and Pacific Islander community. Our HQ API ERG team is fundraising for Plate by Plate's COVID-19 Relief Fund. For over 20 years, Restaurants and Beverages have been the DNA of Plate by Plate and supported the API community by creating awareness and fundraising for important issues. This industry has been particularly affected by COVID-19 and we would like to honor their past participation by giving back through Project by Projects Restaurant Relief Fund.
During this time of social distancing, isolation, and uncertainty, being part of a supportive community has never been more crucial. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will go towards providing educational and mentoring resources to underprivileged Asian and immigrant youth in NYC. Your support enables the continuity of Apex for Youth’s programming as volunteers continue to build out virtual learning platforms, lead workshops to address anti-Asian racism and bullying, begin to address mental health needs within the AAPI community and create partnerships with other local community organizations.
This NetHope funding will support NetHope's COVID-19 Taskforces working to meet the needs of their 60 member partners who are struggling with new working style, program delivery safety efforts and protective equipment for staff working in the field. Previous fund name: Futbol con Corazón (Box Belong + LatinX + Box.org) Fund Last weekend we celebrated the 2018 World Cup with a special soccer tournament in support of unaccompanied minors – children who bravely left their families and fled their countries to escape persecution, abandonment, exploitation, serious deprivation, and/or violence. 20+ Boxers and their families represented our company by playing soccer with the children, volunteering and raising funds that go directly to free legal services and programatic costs. The event was hosted by Catholic Charities Refugee & Immigrant Services Program was sponsored by Box ERGs Belong & LatinX, in partnership with Box.org. We're rallying Boxers and friends to raise funds to respond to the dramatic increase in demand for affordable legal assistance and wraparound services for unaccompanied minors. Jointly, we've raised $4,300. As Boxers we can do more. The events at the southern US border within the past 48 hours have escalated the need for legal services, so we are setting a new goal of $10K+.
